December 10th Follow Up

On Dec. 10th I went to Ronald McDonald House and gave the newsletter and volunteer brochure to Linda Parry. She was very pleased with the newsletter and brochure. She asked if there was anything else we had to do and I said that we had no more projects. She asked how much more time I had until graduation. I told her that I appreciated the experience and told her I will always speak highly of the organiztion to others. I mailed Linda a business appropriate thank you card on Sat Dec 11th.

Fourth Meeting-November 24

Linda called Mon and rescheduled the meeting from Tues 10:00 to Wed 10:00. She liked volunteer brochure and the only minor change I have to make is adding the web address. Linda did not give enough info to do one four page newsletter. The one we will do for class will include info she gave today plus filler information from previous assignments to complete the four page format. Will contact Susie and Jessica and give them the info they need for assignment today. The info Linda gave will only fill a 1-2 page format. I told Linda that I appreciated the opportunity to volunteer. When I finish the newsletter and add the web address to the brochure Linda said that I can just drop the items off at Ronald McDonald House marked to her attention if she is not there. I will mail Linda a business appropriate thank you card before the semester ends.

Oct 26 Third Meeting

I met with Linda today Tues. Oct 26th for the third meeting. Discussed items for brochure and got a perliminary idea of items for newsletter. Will meet again for a fourth time on Tues. Nov 23 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss newsletter items in greater detail. Linda wants newsletter to be one page ( I assume one page front and back, will ask at Nov. 23 meeting). The due date for the volunteer brochure and newletter is early December. I can drop off items then or schedule a brief meeting in December. Linda says that she wants on copy of the brochure and newsletter, not mass quantities. Information about Holloween party for flyer is fictional because she has no need for a flyer, so the flyer is only for class assignment.

As of Wed Oct. 13th, I have not received any additional biographical information on the honorees of the 30th anniversary celebration. Since this information isn't absolutely vital to the press release assignment, I will have to make up information myself. Linda probably has a busy schedule or has been unable to obtain the info. The press release is for class only, I would only push for info if this were a real job or if the press release would be published.

October 5th Meeting Results

I met with Linda Parry today to discuss Press Release and to get early info on what she wants in the volunteer brochure that she requested from this project. Linda does not want the Press Release sent to any news organization because they have a PR department that handles PR for the organization. She gave me info that I can use for the PR assignment and will e-mail more information. The PR assignment will be for class only. Linda also gave me info for the volunteer brochure. I scheduled a third meeting with Linda on Tuesday, Oct 26, at 10:00 a.m. I will write a draft for the PR assignment today. Linda enjoyed the biographical article I wrote on Karen Rauscher. She kept the article and gave a copy to Karen Rauscher.

I phoned Linda this morning and scheduled an appointment on Tuesday Oct 5, at 10:00 a.m. We will discuss press release and volunteer brochure. Linda wants to see a copy of Karen Rauscher's interview.

Contacted Linda for 2nd meeting

Today Sept 27th, I telephoned Linda Parry to schedule appointment for 2nd meeting within the next 2 weeks. I left a message on her voice mail asking her to return my call which didn't happen yet. Perhaps she will call back Tuesday. At 2nd meeting I will ask if it is possible to schedule a 3rd meeting for November.

The interview this morining with Karen Rauscher was successful. She was pleasant and great to interview. Everything going well. No problems with communicating with RMH via e-mail.
